2nds victorious but 1sts suffer defeat


1st XI v Hanging Heaton
The first team suffered their second defeat away at Hanging Heaton as they lost by 31 runs.
Batting first Hanging Heaton posted a score of 199-8 as spinners Danny Cross (3-55) and Jack Dyson (3-56) proved our most successful bowlers.

In reply, the batting never really got going as we were bowled out for 168. Adam Brown played an attacking knock and top scoring with 55 before some late order hitting from Abdullah Khan (28) as we finished on 168 all out.

2nd XI v Hanging Heaton
In front of a large crowd at South View Drive, the second team site third after defeating Hanging Heaton by 130 runs in a match which produced two centuries.

Batting first, Paul Martin hit the first century of the year and led the way scoring an exceptional 123, an innings which saw him strike seven sixes and 12 fours in just 75 balls.

Alex Midgley (45) and Rob Barker (39no) also helped propel the total to 292-9.
The Hanging Heaton innings was dominated by Shahzaib Sayeed who scored the second century of the game. The bowling honours were shared by Ross Monaghan (4-58) and Michael Flathers (3-22).
