Monday the 1st of July the u11s were in action against Farsley in the first round of the cup.
Despite the rain raising doubts about whether the game should proceed, the match went ahead and East Bierley won the toss and took to the field first.
Farsley struggled to find their rhythm and were restricted to a score of 75/6 as Will Brook proved to be the standout performer among the bowlers with his accurate and skilful bowling. Charlie Evans displayed exceptional wicket-keeping skills in wet conditions whilst an impressive run-out from distance from Mason Abbott also set the tone of the fielding display.
James Kay also impressed causing difficulties for the Farsley batters and adding pressure to their innings.
In response, East Bierley chased down the target with a score of 76/5. The opening partnership between Ahmed and Dayan set a solid foundation for East Bierley. Harry Soames emerged as the top scorer for East Bierley, displaying his prowess with a commendable 18 runs.
Dylan Hoyle played a crucial role, knocking the winning runs under the welcome appearance of the sun after George Stevens provided solid support. Harry Jarrett played a memorable shot, smashing a delightful 4 to contribute to the team's victory.
The success of East Bierley was truly a result of a collective team effort, with every player making valuable contributions to the game showing great resilience and determination throughout the match.
With this victory, East Bierley advances to the next round of the competition where they will face Crossbank Methodists away on Friday the 19th of July.
