The first team match v Carlton was abandoned when the umpires had concerns over the pitch.
Carlton were struggling at 39-4 at the time with Rylea Jones taking 3-11

2nd XI v Methley

A disappointing loss for the 2nd team away at Methley. Winning the toss, we chose to bat first but soon succumbed to 54-5. Only Alex Midgley (47no) looked comfortable as he helped us reach 127 all out.

Methley eased to victory to record a six-wicket win.

Priestley Shield Action:
2nd XI v Pudsey St Lawrence

In a game reduced to 24 over a-side, the second team won the toss and chose to bowl first.

PSL got off to a good start as the bowlers found it difficult wirh a wet ball but timely wickets kept PSL in tact. Due to a number of absences and playing with 10 men the lads fielded extremely well with some brilliance mixed in amongst & a make shift keeper in T.Hoyle.
PSL posted 191 with a good innings from a young lad that commanded the game well.

Second Innings, A.Midge got the boys off to a flyer, S.Carter batted well with some good hitting but the performance of the innings was Michael Flathers! The best knock he has played for the club, with 73no. Hopefully a sign of things to come. EBCC finished on 134-6 and unfortunately ran out of overs and established batsmen. Well done to the lads and on to concentrating back on the league now.
