The club is pleased to announce the appointment of Adam Brown as 1st XI Captain for the 2026 season. Adam returns to the role following the departure of Dwayne Heke, who has moved on to join Scarcroft CC. The club would like to thank Dwayne for his contributions over the last two years as captain and three in total, and wish him every success at his new club.

There have been a small number of further departures since last season, with Mustafa Rafique joining Jer Lane CC and Adam Dean returning to Baildon CC. We thank both players for their service and wish them all the best for the upcoming season.

Despite these changes, the 1st XI has retained a strong core from last year, with Ben Heritage, Danny Cross, Tom Burton, Hamza Saeed, and Sam Gatenby all committing to the club for the 2026 campaign.

The club has also been active in strengthening the squad. We are delighted to welcome attacking opening batsman Farakh Hussain, who joins from Jer Lane CC, and overseas professional Asad Raza, currently playing cricket in Faisalabad. In addition, Josh Twohig joins as wicketkeeper from Gomersal CC, while promising young batsman Nate Holdsworth arrives from Luddendenfoot CC.

Reece Clark has been promoted to the 1st XI following an outstanding season with the 2nd XI, where he claimed over 50 wickets. It is particularly pleasing to see a homegrown player progress through the club’s age groups and earn his opportunity at senior level.

The club wishes Adam and the entire 1st XI squad the very best of luck for the 2026 season.

The 1st team travel to Undercliffe on the 18th of April but get underway at South View Road on the 25th of April v Ossett.
